The Prevention Team is so excited to announce the return of our Annual Teen Summit and Art Contest! This event will be a completely FREE & VIRTUAL for teens in February regarding teen dating violence & healthy relationships. Created and led by our Youth Action Committee, the purpose of the Annual Teen Summit & Art Contest is to encourage young people to make a commitment to taking a stand against violent relationships and the societal norms that perpetuate it.
As a response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Youth Action Committee & supporting Prevention Team are taking the opportunity to host a 100% virtual summit experience in 2022. As an incentive for youth, those who attend any virtual youth breakout will receive a $10 gift card voucher!
This year’s workshops will have themes and discussions surrounding personal boundaries, consent, relationship rights, & healthy communication. Use the links below to register for one or more of our workshops!
February 12th | 10:00am-12:00pm- Name that Red Flag!
With a classic “game night” feel, this interactive webinar will provide a baseline understanding of teen dating violence & common red flags & warning signs to watch out for.
February 17th | 5:30pm-7:30pm- The Future is Self-Care
“Self-Care” is the new buzzword, but what exactly does that mean? And what exactly does self-care have to do with relationships? Join us for a discussion about mindfulness, personal boundaries, and safety planning in relationships.
February 26th | 10:00am-12:00pm– Consent – It’s Not Just for Sex!
Consent, consent, consent! A taboo in the real world, this webinar will take a deep dive into understanding personal boundaries & how to communicate them.

February 11th | 10:00am-12:00pm- Teen Dating Violence 101
An introduction to the world of Teen Dating Violence (TDV), this webinar will discuss what TDV is, the challenges young people face in seeking assistance, and what you can do to support young people experiencing relationship violence.
February 25th | 10:00am-12:00pm- Justice-Involved Youth & DV
How does witnessing domestic violence in the home affect youth in their future? This webinar will explore Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and additional risk & protective factors for youth currently involved in the justice system.
Our 9th Annual Art Contest will be accepting submissions from 2/1/22 – 2/18/22. This will be followed by a week of digital voting, and the winners will be announced on 2/28. Our 1st place art contest winner is eligible for a $100 gift card!
